Who we are
Soy Salsa is a dance school based in London. This website and the classes booked through it are operated by Soy Salsa Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17149531), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Soy Salsa Ltd operates two brands, Soy Salsa and Salsa Femme. In these terms, references to Soy Salsa, we, us, and our mean Soy Salsa Ltd.
If you need to reach us about these terms or your booking, please email hello@soysalsa.co.uk.
About these terms
These terms apply every time you create an account, book a class, course, pass, or event, or otherwise use this website. By doing any of these things, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully and keep a copy for your records.
We may update these terms from time to time (see Changes to these terms below). The version published on this page is the one that applies.
Your account and eligibility
Our classes and accounts are intended for adults. You must be 18 or over to create an account and to book with us.
When you create an account, please give accurate and complete information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for any activity that takes place under your account. Please contact us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.
You may sign in using an email and password or, where offered, using your Google account. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Booking classes and events
We offer several ways to dance with us, including monthly courses, single class bookings (drop-ins), multi-class bundles, flexible passes, workshops, and events. What is available at any time is shown on our schedule and product pages.
All bookings are subject to availability. Classes have a limited capacity, and some partner-work classes balance the number of leaders and followers, so a class or a particular role may sell out. A booking is confirmed only once your payment has been completed and you receive a confirmation email.
Where capacity allows, a class can be booked up to 30 minutes after its start time. After that, online booking for that class closes.
You can book as a guest without an account for many products. Some features, including flexible passes, rescheduling, and Soy Points, require an account.
Prices and payment
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking.
Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. By paying, you agree to Stripe processing your payment, and you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method.
We take care to show correct prices, but if we discover that a price was clearly wrong, we will contact you before taking payment or, if payment has already been taken, offer you the choice of continuing at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund. Any discounts, discount codes, and Soy Points are applied at checkout.
Courses
Our courses run in monthly blocks. Each course is a set of classes on fixed dates for a particular level, usually one class each week with the same group.
The standard price is £50 per course. If you enrol in more than one course for the same period at the same time, a multi-course discount applies: the first course is £50, the second is £40, and each further course is £35. The discount is shown at checkout.
Your place on a course is secured when payment is completed. Because a course is a planned block of classes with a set start date, please see Cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling below for what happens if you need to change your enrolment or cannot attend.
Passes and bundles
A bundle is a set number of class credits bought together. A flexible pass lets you book eligible classes using credits held on your account, and it requires an account.
Passes and bundles have an expiry date, shown at the time of purchase. Once a pass expires, any unused credits can no longer be used and are not refundable. If you hold credits from a previous season, you may be able to convert unused credit to Soy Points from your dashboard, at the rate shown there. This option can be used once per pass.
Team membership
Team membership is an optional monthly subscription for members of our performance teams. It costs £75 per month, or £65 per month at the student rate where you qualify.
Membership renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid month, so you keep your membership benefits until then and you are not charged again after that. Booking and paying for regular classes is separate from team membership.
Soy Points
Soy Points is our loyalty scheme. You earn points when you spend and through activities such as signing up, referring friends, and checking in to classes. As a guide, you earn roughly 10 points for every £1 you spend.
Points can be redeemed for money off future bookings at set tiers (for example 600, 1,000, or 1,300 points). The current earning and redemption details are shown on our Soy Points page.
Points expire 12 months after they are earned, on a first-in, first-out basis, and we usually let you know by email around 30 days before points are due to expire. Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred to another person or account. We may change or withdraw the scheme, or adjust earning and redemption rates, and we will publish any changes on the Soy Points page.
Cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything in these terms.
Because you book online, you normally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking. This right does not apply to classes, courses, workshops, or events booked for a specific date or period, which the law treats as leisure activities. Where a class or course has already started with your agreement, the right to cancel no longer applies to the part already provided. This does not affect a refund we owe you because we changed or cancelled a class.
Drop-ins and bundles
If you book a single class or use a bundle credit, you can cancel your booking at any time before the class starts and receive a full refund to your original payment method, or the credit back on your pass. Refunds are usually processed within a few business days. Any Soy Points you earned on the booking are reversed, and any points you redeemed are returned to your balance.
Courses
Once a course has started, it is non-refundable, because places are limited and planned around the group. If you need to withdraw before a course starts, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
Workshops and events
Tickets for workshops and events are non-refundable, unless the workshop or event is cancelled by us.
Rescheduling
If you have an account, you can reschedule an eligible drop-in or pass booking to another date of the same class, up until the original class start time. Rescheduling uses Soy Points: the standard fee is 300 points, rising to 500 points if you reschedule less than 12 hours before the class. Bundles, guest bookings, workshops, and events cannot be rescheduled.
If we change or cancel a class
Occasionally we may need to change the time, venue, level, or instructor of a class, or cancel it. If we cancel a class that you have booked, we will offer you a suitable alternative, a credit, or a full refund.
Studio etiquette and conduct
Our classes are welcoming spaces for people of all backgrounds and levels. We ask everyone to treat teachers, staff, and fellow dancers with respect, to arrive with good personal hygiene out of consideration for dance partners, and to follow the reasonable instructions of our teachers and staff.
Harassment, discrimination, threatening behaviour, and any conduct that puts others at risk are not acceptable. We may refuse entry to, or remove from a class, anyone who behaves in this way or who repeatedly disrupts a class. In serious cases we may do so without a refund and may decline future bookings.
Health, safety, and taking part
Dancing is a physical activity. By taking part, you confirm that you are in good enough health to do so. If you have a medical condition, an injury, or are pregnant, or if you are unsure whether a class is suitable, please speak to your doctor before taking part and let your teacher know so they can help where possible.
Please dance within your own limits and take breaks when you need them. Our teachers give general dance instruction, which is not medical, health, or fitness advice. Please also look after your personal belongings, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged at a venue, except where we are legally responsible.
Photography and video
We sometimes take photographs and video in classes, workshops, and social events, and we may use them to promote Soy Salsa, including on social media, in advertising, and on this website.
If you would prefer not to be featured, please let a member of staff know at the event or email us at hello@soysalsa.co.uk, and we will take reasonable steps to avoid including you, or to remove an image where practical. You can find more detail in our Privacy Policy.
Our content
The Soy Salsa and Salsa Femme names and logos, along with the content of this website and our teaching materials, are owned by us or used under licence, and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the website and materials for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not copy, redistribute, or record our classes or materials for commercial use without our permission.
Our responsibility to you
We will provide our classes and services with reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and under your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to the above, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, that arise from your own breach of these terms, or that relate to loss of or damage to personal belongings other than where we are legally responsible. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our classes, our payment provider, or the law. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If you continue to use the website or book with us after a change, the updated terms apply to that use.
Complaints
If something goes wrong, please email us at hello@soysalsa.co.uk and we will try to put it right. We do not currently use an alternative dispute resolution provider, but this does not affect your right to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
